During a recent media event, The Juneteenth Legacy Project named Ms. Opal as a National Honorary Chair member. In this role, Ms. Opal will be involved in promoting the mural project in Galveston, TX. She will visit Galveston, TX in May 2021, when the mural will be revealed.
