Everyone is looking for how can they celebrate the new national holiday, and Ms. Opal offers these suggestions:

1.    Unity Prayer Service

4.    Sports / Games – basketball tournaments, baseball games, track meets, etc.

5.    Community Festival

6.    Participate in Opal’s Walk for Freedom

7.    Education components – healthcare fair, financial fair, college fair, job fair and a food give away

Register for Ms. Opal’s Walk Live 2021 on Saturday, June 19th to walk alongside Ms. Opal and recognize the Juneteenth holiday. Don’t worry, you don’t have to be local to participate!

While Ms. Opal Lee will walk and celebrate alongside her community in Fort Worth, Texas, she invites you all to walk the 2.5 miles with her, from wherever you may be.

Walk through your neighborhood, on a treadmill, at a local track or wherever you can. Gather family, friends, neighbors and colleagues to help spread the word!

Funds raised will go Ms. Opal’s walking campaign that works to unite the country and gain support for making Juneteenth a national holiday, and a portion of the funds your group raises will go to the organization of your group’s choice.
